In the eyes of travelers, the Asia-Europe-Africa Loop is a classic route very suitable for gap year. No matter students or departing professionals, many people choose this route.
Walking on this road in summer vacation, you will meet many students and teachers, most of whom start from Xinjiang.
It usually passes through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, then enters the three Caucasus countries of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, and then crosses Turkey and enters the Balkans.
Compared with other European countries, visas in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Albania are relatively easy to apply for.
Among them, the visa for Montenegro is a little more complicated and usually requires an invitation letter.
After traveling the Balkans, many people will choose to fly to Egypt as the end of their long journey.
Some people will transit in Abu Dhabi, but since Wizz Air canceled the Abu Dhabi route, the transportation cost of this Asia-Europe-Africa loop line has increased a lot.
It’s been a long journey. Students usually try to keep their trip within two months, while others can finish it in more than a month.
It can’t be said that they haven’t gone to so many countries, but what they see is often just the typical scenery common in the Raiders.
If the time is not limited, play more calmly and casually, stay in your favorite place for a while, meet and say goodbye to different people, and the theme of travel may be departure or meeting.
I chose a different route: from Sri Lanka to Abu Dhabi, then to Egypt, Turkey and the Caucasus, then flew back from the Caucasus to Abu Dhabi for transit, went to Tashkent, then took a train from Tashkent to Almaty, and finally took a bus back home from Almaty to have a slow tour of Xinjiang.
At that time, I thought this plan was good-I haven’t been to Xinjiang yet, and I’ve been yearning for it. If you go to Xinjiang at the beginning, you may spend half of the money. It’s better to wait until the long trip is over and then come back. It’s just the golden autumn of September, and the crops are harvested. Maybe you can pick cotton and pepper, earn some money by labor, and subsidize the expenses all the way.
Although it is a good idea, everything is not practical until the big traffic is determined. For poor backpackers, travel cost is the most limiting factor, and transportation expenses are often the biggest expense during the journey.
Because it is a temporary decision to leave, the air ticket from Hangzhou to Colombo costs more than 1,000 yuan. At first, I kept brushing tickets, but I didn’t make up my mind on which day’s flight to buy. As a result, the more I brushed it, the more expensive it became, and I went straight to 1,56. Well, that’s not okay.
So I changed the place of departure-just at that time, there was an activity at Quanzhou Airport, and I could get a transportation subsidy of 200 yuan. Although the subsidy was not successfully applied later, I thought it would be cost-effective to go shopping in Quanzhou.
My big traffic wasn’t all set to begin with. I usually confirm the departure flight before each leg of the trip. In fact, this is also a detail that the customs may ask when entering other countries.
If you have enough time, you can do it like me-otherwise you may regret it like me.
Later, I booked air tickets to several other countries and from these countries to third countries in advance. Because the ticket time is fixed, I have to wait even if I don’t want to stay any longer.
If my route goes through, compared with other travelers who are traveling through Asia, Europe and Africa, it will be “reverse”. Of course, Sri Lanka is not on the traditional Asia-Europe-Africa loop. It is purely my own interest to see it.
Designing a travel itinerary doesn’t have to be step-by-step. Just choose your favorite place and calculate the transportation cost.
Later, because I traveled with cash all the way, I gave up Europe, where it is said that there are many thieves. The main reason is that some people in the circle of friends have been there and sent a lot of photos, but they give me a lackluster feeling.
So my eventual route is completely different from the regular Asia-Europe-Africa loop. If travelers want to follow the path of others, they can follow the path of others.
A major limitation in determining the travel cost is transportation, so it is necessary to design the route within the budget.
Step by step has fun, and you don’t have to worry about boredom or loneliness; But sometimes you can see different scenery if you rush casually.
The Asia-Europe-Africa Loop is a mature route, which is especially lively every summer vacation, and has become an adventure for many college students to challenge themselves. Even if you can’t speak English, you can walk, mainly depending on the popularity of translation software, and you can always meet fellow travelers along the way.
There are always unknowns on the journey, and the risks may be at your feet. If you plan to travel, especially on such a long journey, be sure to prepare for the worst in advance.
Many people say that you can play without money, but my point is: you can only take a budget of ten or twenty thousand on the road, but you can’t only have ten or twenty thousand deposits.
Only when you are fully prepared to start again is your greatest responsibility for yourself.
For many travelers who don’t punch in, if they don’t have a strong desire to “how many countries to go”, they can actually choose a favorite country and play, experience and live slowly.
Looking at similar scenery in the circle of friends for a long time will make people feel like a relay race. After all, sometimes it’s better to look at photos at home and think you’ve been there.
For backpackers, the greatest value of travel is not only the scenery, but also the people and stories they meet along the way.
Whether you wear it forward, backwards, or randomly choose a section of the road, what you meet on the way will definitely become an exclusive memory, which is worth reminiscing again and again. After all, many people only take such a long journey once in a lifetime.
You can travel poorly or rich, the way of travel is different, so there is nothing to compare. If you ask me my biggest feeling, it must not be a discussion about being poor or rich, but: have fun while you are young.
