Everyone says “romantic Turkey”, but where is the most romantic place in Turkey? Everyone’s answer is different.
Some people think the hot air balloon in Cappadocia is romantic, while others say that the Bosphorus Strait across Asia and Europe is romantic, while I prefer those small and delicate places.
Cesme is a small town under Izmir. It’s about an hour’s drive by bus from downtown Izmir. It’s a somewhat far away from the hustle and bustle but not remote travel destination.
On this route, the bus will pass through other towns, and I see many people getting off halfway.
Everyone likes a different style, and my personal favorite choice is Cheshme.
In my eyes, Cesme is the most romantic town in Turkey.
The town is not big, and you can walk through the main attractions. But you can’t underestimate the road here either-because it’s close to the seaside, there are many uphill and downhill.
Although it’s a little tiring to walk, the scenery on both sides is very attractive. From time to time, you can meet large tracts of bougainvillea in full bloom, which are dazzling.
To be fair, prices in Cesme are not low. Compared with the urban area, the consumption here is slightly higher, and even the same goods in convenience stores will be a little more expensive.
But as long as you get out of the scenic spot, it’s actually fine. There are many chain convenience stores in Turkey, where there are often specials, and many products themselves are not expensive.
Hanging out in Cesme, you can walk up the high places. If you like the sea, you can see the blue Aegean Sea directly here.
Although not in Greece, you can also feel the romance of the Aegean Sea and the windmills turning leisurely on the ridge in the distance.
And all this, most of them don’t require tickets.
If you love historical monuments, then the town’s old castle is also not to be missed. This castle has a long history. It was built in 1508 and was ordered by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II.
Getting on the castle and looking out at the bay is a different experience. If you don’t want to spend money to get in, you can also see the statue at the door, and then you can go directly to the seaside.
Cesme is a great place to take photos. Even if you don’t take portraits, you only record the scenery along the way, which is very memorable.
Coming from downtown Izmir, Cheshme feels more laid back, and the holiday atmosphere is worthy of its name. So if you go in the peak season, it’s best to book your accommodation in advance.
If you have plenty of time, you can stay in the town for a few more days; If the schedule is tight and you want to go to more places, there is also a minibus from Cheshme to Alachat, which takes about 20 minutes to drive. The distance between the two places is very close.
To return to downtown Izmir, you can also choose to take a bus at the bus station in Alachat. There are many tourists in these places, and the transportation is actually very convenient.
Compared with the prohibitively expensive tickets in some places, Cheshme can be said to be a very good choice. After all, you can feel the quiet time by walking around the streets of the town at will without spending a penny.
There are many kinds of tourist souvenirs in Chesme, and most shops will clearly mark their prices. If you have a suitable one, you might as well bring one or two-some products I really haven’t seen anywhere else.
